I rose early at 6:30 am, anticipating a rather uneventful day, only to be rewarded with a stunning sunset later at Willow Park in Rosedale. However, upon waking, a hint of nausea urged me to hastily exit the car. After hydrating and a quick pit stop, a flurry of thoughts raced through my mind: ‘You’ve got to be kidding me; I can’t afford to get sick right now. Tomorrow, the real excitement begins!’

In the chilly morning, I layered up with my vest and even donned my winter jacket. Despite feeling an improvement, the cold persisted. Last night, the temperature had dropped significantly, catching me off guard. I couldn’t shake off my disdain for cold weather.

Leaving Ninety Mile Beach

Upon regaining my composure, I opted to head to the beach. Armed with a chair and a refreshing coke, I settled in to enjoy the sunrise. Despite the morning chill, I had bundled up in all my warm clothing, gradually finding a greater sense of comfort.

I spent a few hours at the beach, relishing the soothing sea breeze and the warm sunrays caressing my skin. Immersed in my book, I reveled in the solitude and the breathtaking view. After a delightful two hours of reading, I made my way back to the car and prepared to leave.

Planning My Stay at Melbourne

I returned to Sale within 30 minutes. By 11 am, I decided to locate the library to charge my laptop and work on some blog entries. While using the internet, I also researched hostels in Melbourne, contemplating the logistics of parking in the city. Melbourne’s parking situation seemed daunting, and my attempts to find reasonably priced long-term parking were unsuccessful. Reflecting on my luck with parking at Daniel’s place in Sydney, I finally discovered a hostel offering accommodation for $25 per night, complete with free Wi-Fi and secured parking. I couldn’t believe my luck! Without hesitation, I booked three nights at this hostel, starting from April 16, extending my stay in Sale for a few more days. It might be a bit dull, but I considered it a worthwhile arrangement.

In the afternoon, I purchased some nutritious food. Despite feeling better later in the day, the morning’s nausea served as a wake-up call, prompting me to prioritize my health. At the supermarket, I picked up fruit juice, a small can of freshly chopped fruits, salad, and bread. With a few days remaining in Sale, I made a commitment to myself to prioritize healthier eating once I reached Melbourne.

A Beautiful Sunset at Willow Park

At approximately 5 pm, I departed Sale heading towards my next camping location, situated around 20 kilometers westward, in the direction of Melbourne. I reached a small town named Rosedale, and just before the town, there was a serene rest area called Willow Park. The rest area was spacious and inviting, with some friendly individuals present. As the sun set, painting the skies with beautiful hues, I strolled around, capturing the picturesque moments with my camera.

I cherished the sunset, especially with the silhouette of trees in the background. This was one of those sunsets that would undoubtedly stay etched in my memory when I returned home. After a while, I went back to my car and sat in front of it on a chair, engrossed in reading Game of Thrones. As the sky darkened, I moved inside the car and continued reading. The interior was surprisingly hot, as I had intentionally set the heater to its highest level just before reaching this spot, anticipating a cold night ahead.

Finally, I enjoyed a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother and Game of Thrones. At around 11 pm, I made the decision to call it a night. Tomorrow’s plan involved being lazy and passing the time in the library in the next town on my list.
